FAQ

Before you sit.

The same house rules from tattootlan.com — so the session goes clean.

Please tell the artist

  • If you are pregnant, have diabetes, or have any other medical concerns.
  • Come hydrated — a light meal before your session can help prevent fainting.
  • It's always polite to leave a tip.

Please refrain during the session

  • Arriving intoxicated or hungover — alcohol can cause your body to bleed excessively, even when consumed 24 hours beforehand.
  • Taking aspirin or any other type of blood thinner, such as caffeine.
  • Using any lotion on the tattoo area before or after the session.
  • Arriving with damaged skin — do not aggravate the area you want tattooed.
  • Touching your tattoo during the session, for sanitary reasons.

Tattoo aftercare

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before washing your tattoo.
  • After 3 hours, remove the bandage gently. Wash with warm water and soap, then gently pat dry with a towel. Do not re-bandage.
  • It's okay to shower, but do not take a bath until it's healed.
  • Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning booths until the tattoo is healed (at least 7–10 days).
  • Do not soak your tattoo in a tub, sauna, or jacuzzi, or go swimming while it is healing.
  • Avoid A&D Ointment, Vaseline, or any fragranced lotion.
  • Do not rub or pick the treated area while it is healing — especially without washing your hands first.
  • Do not drink alcohol or take aspirin for 24 hours.
  • It is normal for your tattoo to scab and flake about 7 days after your session.
  • Your tattoo should heal within 2–3 weeks.
